Job Title: Registered Nurse Profession: RN Specialty: Progressive Care Unit Duration: 13 weeks Shift: 06:45 - 19:15 Hours per Shift: 12 Experience: Minimum of 2 years License: RN License Certifications: BLS and ACLS Must-Have: Telemetry competency Progressive Care experience Description: The role involves providing patient care in a dynamic unit. This unit typically accommodates a mix of medical surgical and step-down patients. Patient ratios are approximately 1:5 to 1:6, depending on the level of care needed. Short stay patients with a target length of stay of 24 hours are also managed in this unit. The unit has a quick turnover rate. Telemetry equipment is utilized, and all patients are hardwired to bedside monitors as required. The electronic medical record system used is Cerner. Candidates will be expected to have a positive attitude and focus on patient experience. Compassion, kindness, and the ability to work well in a team are key personality traits. Candidates will be required to float to other units if necessary. Every other weekend is required, with no on-call shifts. Dress code includes navy and/or white tops with navy bottoms.
